NEW flights have been added from Southampton Airport to Tours in France.

Flybe has begun its new summer-only twice-weekly route to the French city, and it will be running until September 12.

When the first flight landed in Tours, the managing director of the French airport was presented with wine from Wickham Vineyard as a gift.

Flybe is the most prolific airline flying from Southampton Airport, and the airline’s general manager for market development, Ian Taylor, said the firm remains ‘strongly committed’ to keeping its business there.

He added: ‘This new route highlights Flybe’s commitment to giving our customers as much travel choice as possible and to “making flying better”.’
