Supporters gearing up for annual beach clean

FAREHAM Society will be out in force on Sunday for its annual beach clean.

The operation takes place once a year and this time is being carried out in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Last year the clean along Meon Shore was attended by over 40 people, and it is hoped the same amount of people will help this time.

The clean will begin at 9am and should last a few hours.

Surfers against Sewage and Geocache are two of the organisations that have backed the occasion.

Helpers have been known to come from Fareham as well as further afield to help with the project.

The clean-up is in the same location as previous years and will go westward towards Brownwich from Meon Shore, clearing around a mile of beachfront.

Adult volunteers will be given gloves during the clean-up and everyone will be provided with bags to collect as much rubbish as possible.
