BUSINESSES are pulling out all the stops to make a Christmas festival one to remember.

Hayling’s Christmas lights will be switched on by mayor
of Havant Councillor Leah Turner in Mengham at 5pm on Friday.

It will kick off an evening of late-night shopping, ahead of Small Business Saturday the next day.

Councillor Turner will be joined by carol singers and bell ringers. Santa’s grotto will have a gift for every child courtesy of the Hayling Lions Club.

Nativity donkeys, a treasure trail, snow-zone, stalls selling crafts and gifts, music and buskers plus a beer tent will keep the whole family entertained.

Hayling College Glee Club will be performing and will be joined by police, firefighters and Hayling’s First Responders. There is free parking from 5pm.

Tina Heath said: ‘With mostly independent traders in the village you’ll find some unusual gift ideas along with many festive giveaways and special offers in conjunction with the national Small Business Saturday.’

Raffle tickets sold on Friday will be pulled on Saturday.
