Members of The Association of Translation Companies are supporting modern language studies by assisting local Universities.
The number of people studying modern languages is declining, which could reduce the number of qualified translators in the UK.
Fareham-based Intonation has worked with the University of Portsmouth for nearly 20 years.
It offers placements for university interns, attends the university’s careers fairs and provides guest speakers for events.
Commercial director Dan Peachey said: ‘Graduates are vital for the future of the UK translation industry.
‘I’m regularly interviewed by undergraduates about the industry by students on the BA course.
‘As a result, we regularly take on students – mostly from the MA Translation and BA Applied Languages courses.’
