Take advantage of cheap bus service to the shops

First Bus Hampshire and Dorset has teamed up with Whiteley Shopping to provide a Saturday shuttle bus service between Fareham and Whiteley for just £1.

Operating every Saturday since July 2016, the service leaves Fareham Bus Station hourly from 7.40am through to 10.40pm and returns from Whiteley each hour between 8.10am and 11.10pm.

The W1 service provides direct, frequent and cost effective travel between Fareham and Whiteley on the busiest day of the week for shopping and leisure.

The announcement of the new shuttle service follows the successful opening of Whiteley’s leisure extension in November incorporating a nine screen Cineworld cinema and six new restaurants.

Neil Carter, the centre manager for Whiteley, said: ‘We have been working on this initiative with First Bus for several months.

‘I am very excited that the new W1 shuttle service is now a reality.

‘The shuttle helps customers and workers alike to significantly reduce travel time between the two destinations and, if success continues, we plan to expand the shuttle to Sundays and bank holidays.’

‘We hope it continues to encourage more people to use the bus instead of taking their cars to this ever-popular shopping centre.’
