Talks take place on rail strike

TALKS have taken place between striking train conductors and Southern Rail.

The conductors staged strikes in protest over changes to their role. The RMT trade union met Southern’s owners Govia Thameslink Railway at conciliation service Acas yesterday.

A GTR spokesman said: ‘We responded to the points raised by the union, and they have taken our responses back to their executive. We hope that they will move this forward.’
