The Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition will return in February

A MEATY contest will return next year to celebrate UK Sausage Week.

Hampshire Fare has announced that the Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition will return on February 5, 2019, to mark the seven-day festivities from October 29.

The feat will pitch Hampshire butchers against each other '“ showcasing their top products to be judged by a panel of experts. 

Open to all butchers, there will be 12 categories in which competitors will do battle in including traditional pork sausage, Hampshire sausage, cold-eating pie, charcuterie and young sausage maker.

The judging process begins on February 5 at Eastleigh College and an awards ceremony will take place that month at the Holiday Inn in Winchester.
