There’s still time to tell us how great your pub is

CHEERS Is your local pub the best?
CHEERS Is your local pub the best?
AGHHH! Another one of those awful charity ads...

LETTER OF THE DAY: Ouch! Far too many TV charity ads

Have your say

THIS is your last chance to vote for your favourite pub.

Tell us all the great things about your local and the one that proves most popular will be crowned the best.

We’ve been flooded with entries and the pubs leading the way are; The Good Companion, in Eastern Road, Portsmouth, The Jolly Miller, in Miller Drive, Fareham, The Green Dragon, in Rowner Road, Rowner, The Six Bells, in North Street, Havant, The Wellington, in High Street, Old Portsmouth and The Festing, in Festing Road, Southsea.

You’ve got until midnight on April 30 to enter.

Just fill in the form in The News and send it back to us.

As previously reported in The News, we want to highlight pubs that are still an important meeting place in people’s communities.

More and more pubs are closing every day, and we want to make sure the ones that are left are given proper recognition.

Your pub could be where you go and catch up with friends or a crucial meeting place for clubs and societies.

You might want to vote for it because of the work it does for charity and the effort it puts in to make customers feel special.

Or perhaps you’re impressed with its quirky touches and the bubbly personality of the landlord or landlady. Your pub could be traditional with great real ale or modern with extensive sport coverage.

The winner of our Pub of the Year competition will be presented with a trophy by Mark Waldron, editor of The News.

Pubs with 10 nominations or more will go through to a final shortlist, which will be published on May 4.
