Thomas Cook announced its plans to close the Westbury Mall, Fareham, store to staff who subsequently accepted roles in other nearby branches.

In December, the firm announced it would be closing 50 of its high street shops, putting 400 jobs at risk.

Kathryn Darbandi, director of retail and customer experience said: ‘We continually review our store network to make sure we have the right stores in the right places for our customers.

‘We have advised colleagues in Fareham of our intention to close the Westbury Mall store, and all staff have accepted roles in nearby stores, including West Street in Fareham, following the closure.’
