A ROAD in Titchfield will be closed for work to replace overhead power lines in the area.

National Grid is refurbishing the electricity line between Fawley and Lovedean to help safeguard future power supplies in the region.

The project – which got under way earlier this year – involves replacing the overhead line cables and further maintenance work.

To enable this work to be carried out safely Warsash Road in Fareham will be closed between Hunts Pond Road and Common Lane from Monday March 5 for up to four weeks.

Diversions will be put in place.

The closure may be lifted at evenings and weekends if it is safe to do so.

Some trees and vegetation around pylons needs to be cut back to carry out work.

Project manager Carl Davies said: ‘We’ll do all we can to deliver this vital upgrade as considerately as possible and with minimal hassle to the local community.’

Local power supplies will not be disrupted by this work.
