VET Cara Golden has been shortlisted for Vet of the Year in a national award scheme.

Cara, who owns Whiteley Village Vets, in Parkway, is as a finalist in the 2015 Petplan Veterinary Awards, which will be announced on Thursday.

The awards, now in its 16th year, celebrate the nation’s most exceptional vets, nurses, practices, practice managers and vet support staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in keeping pets healthy and giving owners peace of mind.

Cara was nominated for her work treating a range of first and second opinion/referral cases, as well as coaching several young vets abroad.

Cara said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled. It is a great accolade.

‘I feel honoured to be recognised as having the client skills, dedication and the clinical acumen to do the best for my patients.’
