A SHOPPING precinct will be lighting up all its trees to spread some festive cheer.

For the first time, Portchester Traders Association will not only be lighting up a Christmas tree in the precinct, but has raised enough money to light up all the surrounding trees too.

A celebration will be held to mark the annual switch-on in Portchester precinct with a fun-packed evening on Friday, December 6 from 5pm.

There will be performances from local school choirs singing carols and the mayor of Fareham councillor Susan Bayford will be switching on the lights.

There will also be a visit from Santa Claus to entertain the children.
