THE microblogging site Twitter has been used to give a masterclass to the PR industry on how to win awards.

The social networking site was used like an online conference call, where all users could see the questions and answers.

Fareham-based PR expert Kevin Briscoe was asked by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations to take part in the Twittinar to help members complete their entries for the industry’s regional PRide Awards.

Mr Briscoe, who runs Briscoe PR at Sarisbury Green, has been a judge for the awards for the past three years and is also a past award-winner.

He answered questions from across the Wessex region – Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire – during the one-hour session.

The CIPR is considering running the experiment again but opening it up to the whole country.
