BUSINESSES are being invited to get involved in a virtual careers fair, run by The News’s parent company, Johnston Press.

The Jobstoday website launched the fair yesterday, looking to match up recruiters with candidates specifically in health care, customer services and sales.

The virtual careers fair is a free portal where jobseekers can browse the fair by location to find both large, blue-chip companies and smaller, local organisations recruiting in their area, and apply for advertised vacancies.

During the fair, candidates can also take advantage of online chat technology to speak to employers directly to seek the latest advice and find out more about what the vacancies involve before making their application.

David Chipchase, digital sales development manager at Jobstoday, said: ‘We are really pleased that we can offer this event to help individuals seek fantastic new job opportunities.

‘With competition getting increasingly tough in the job market, these Virtual Careers Fairs will be a great platform for highly motivated individuals to really show off their skills and experience, and prove their passion for the sector.’

The fair runs until Friday, September 28 at
