THE Solent Hotel and Spa in Whiteley has clinched a top tourism award.

It achieved a ‘gold award’ in the Business Tourism category of the 2011 Beautiful South’s Awards for Excellence.

The awards, held at Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey are in their 21st year and recognise businesses and destinations across the tourism industry for their exceptional levels of customer service and dedication to raising standards

The four-star, 111-bedroom hotel and adjoining Parson’s Collar pub employs more than 100 staff.

General manager Dominic Osborne said: ‘It’s a huge honour to be recognised with the award and we’re all thrilled to be going forward to represent the region in the national awards.’
