Winner Erin celebrates third accolade at industry showcase

Beauty technician Erin Searle is still celebrating after winning the Nail Technician of the Year accolade at this year's Hair and Beauty Awards.

Erin now has three Hair and Beauty awards under her belt, after scooping two prizes at previous ceremonies.

The technician’s company, Nails By Erin in Fareham, was praised by judges for its fantastic customer service and attention to detail.

Erin said: ‘It was a really good night and so lovely to see new faces and be able to meet people whose work 
I’ve appreciated for some time.’

Along with the excitement of the win, Erin said that her favourite part of the ceremony was seeing others collect their awards.

She said: ‘I love watching people when they realise that they have won.

‘Watching them walk up on stage and seeing their table cheering and all of the positivity is great.’

Despite already receiving two accolades and having an award-winning company, Erin said that she still got nervous before the event.

Erin said: ‘Honestly, I couldn’t stop shaking when I heard my name called.

‘I was up against fantastic competition, so it was very unexpected.

‘I had it in my mind that they would win.

‘It makes a huge difference to your business, because people start tagging you on Facebook, they spot you in the paper and mention it.

‘People come in now and say “Oh, you’ve won loads of awards, haven’t you?” so it really draws in attention.’

Erin said that she would definitely encourage other people to put their businesses forward next year.

She added: ‘Go for it. It isn’t just about the winning, it’s about getting together and supporting other businesses.

‘It’s wonderful to see people wanting to help others like that.

‘I had Rachel Gibbons and Faye Miles on my table, who also both won awards, so the atmosphere and our section were absolutely buzzing!’

‘I want to say a big congratulations to all of the winners and I look forward to seeing you all next year.’
