A PIZZA shop worker has been crowned the fastest pizza-maker in the country in a competition.

Zagros Aumar, from the Domino’s Pizza shop in North End, saw off hundreds of rivals to be crowned the fastest pizza-maker with a time of one minute and a fraction of a second.

Each competitor had to make three large pizzas from scratch in the fastest time.

Zagros said: ‘I am so excited to be crowned the fastest pizza-maker.

‘I have been taking part in this competition for three years now and have come close before, but this year I was determined to win.

‘The competition is fierce as there are so many good contenders.

‘It is such a great feeling to know that I will represent the UK, Ireland and Germany in the European finals next month.’

Pizza shop workers have been battling it out over the last couple of months to win the title of fastest pizza-maker.

Zagros and 14 other finalists travelled to Milton Keynes to take part in the final on Wednesday.

He will now travel to the European final later this year.

If he wins that round, he will travel to Las Vegas for a chance to win the title of world’s fastest pizza-maker.

Domino’s Pizza’s Portsmouth franchise owner Wayne Benson said: ‘We are all very proud of Zagros.

‘He has done an amazing job and we are thrilled he has won.

‘He has always been keen to learn and showed dedication and determination in his pizza-making ability.’
