Arundel Court Primary Academy children sent home after loss of power and heating

ARUNDEL Court Primary Academy children have been forced to spend the last two days at home after a loss of power and heating at the recently built new school building.

However the problem has now been rectified and the school is expected to reopen tomorrow (December 10).

A spokesman for the University of Chichester Academy Trust which oversees the school said: ‘Arundel Court Academy experienced a complete loss of power yesterday (December 8) which affected the heating, lighting, telephony, internet, and water supply.

Parents collected their children from school and teachers provided remote learning for the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday while the fault was being resolved. The school will reopen tomorrow. Engineers identified a fault with the SSE network which feeds the school and have now corrected the issue.’

Pupils and children transferred into the new 700 capacity premises in February.
