Bay House School’s top marks for pupil progress

Recently published figures from the Department for Education showed the school had a Progress 8 score of plus 0.11. Progress 8 measures the amount of progress made by students between joining secondary school and completing GCSEs.

It was the school’s best ever GCSE results since the introduction of the new numerical grading system. Among the high achievers was Ryan Bloxsom who scored an impressive eight grade 9s as well as three 8s.

Headteacher Dr Nigel Mathias said: ‘We are delighted that Bay House School has once again topped the local GCSE performance tables for its Progress 8 score.

‘We believe that helping our pupils to achieve examination success is crucial in helping them to secure a positive future.’ The school was also recentlyrecognised as one of the best in Hampshire for A level pupil progress.
