Ex News journalist appointed new course leader at Highbury College

A former news and community editor at The News has been appointed the new journalism course leader at Highbury College.

Paul Foster will replace Dave King, who is leaving to become editor-in-chief of newspaper publisher Newsquest’s recently-acquired Berkshire division.

Mr Foster, 37, has previous experience with Highbury, helping to launch the industry-first ‘classroom in a newsroom’ at The News, where the college’s one-year journalism students are based.

He said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking up this prestigious post.

Highbury College is renowned for producing quality journalists.

‘In fact, if you go to any newsroom up and down the country there will inevitably be someone who trained at Highbury.

‘I want to continue that tradition while ensuring the award-winning NCTJ-accredited courses we offer remain industry-focused.’
