Fareham nursery applauded as '˜outstanding' by Ofsted inspectors

Good Manors Day Nursery in Miller Drive, Fareham, was given the accolade this month following the inspection in October.

The centre, which had been rated ‘good’ back in its last inspection in March 2013, received glowering praise from inspectors.

To celebrate the achievement, the nursery baked a cake and brought in Fareham’s mayor Councillor Connie Hockley for a picture to commemorate the occasion.

Katharine Galliford, director of the nursery said of the report: ‘It is quite an achievement for us and we were absolutely thrilled to get the report in.

‘I think we did extremely well on the day and it’s great to see how positive the report was on the work that we do here.’

The report said that the nursery’s children of all abilities have ‘high levels’ of self-motivation, that staff have an in-depth knowledge of young children and how they learn at different ages.

It praised the ‘excellent behaviour’ across all areas of the nursery from the children and commended the nursery’s manager Lisa Bennett.

The report said that Ms Bennett always looks for the very best way to improve the overall experience for all children.

She said in response: ‘It was a very proud moment to see the report after all the hard work that the staff put in on the day.

‘It’s a fantastic moment for us and I want to say a massive thanks to all the staff for their efforts on the day.

‘It has given us all a big boost and I think the staff have really taken the accolade in their stride.’
