Fareham student picks up college award for his skills

A STUDENT's hard work has been praised by his college after he received an award.

Charlie Mitchell, 18, from Fareham was handed the Mayflower Theatre Recognition Award at City College Southampton’s awards evening.

He collected the award after achieving his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Production Arts at the college this year.

Charlie said: ‘The professional theatre facilities at City College enabled me to develop and expand my existing production art skills as well as learning a wide variety of new skills. I enjoyed the awards evening, it was a fantastic event that looked amazing.

The teenager has been offered a lighting crew role at the Royal Albert Hall in London. His tutor, Marc Fairclough said: ‘His attitude on the course was impeccable and he showed a strong passion for technical theatre, spending much of his spare time working with other crews.’
