Food van to visit Park Community School in Havant

A Havant school will have its very own meals on wheels service.

The food van will be used to serve students at Park Community School hot food outside during morning break and lunchtimes.

It will also be used for catering at external events, such as Hampshire Farmers’ Market and Staunton Live, and will be available at private events.

Students at Park Community School will be given the opportunity to work in the food van to gain valuable work experience.

Park Community food ambassador Jasmine Davies, Year 9, said: ‘It will be great to have the option of hot food served outside. We’re really excited that we’re going to get even more choice.’

Head chef Steve Cross said: ‘This will be yet another first for the school and staff and students are very excited.

‘This facility will give students the opportunity to experience the varying ways which we can deliver catering.

‘It will show the students how we can best utilise the produce we rear and grow at our local farm.’
