Louisa Hart is the founder of UK Film Academy and has been working with young people across the area to put together a terrifying short horror film called Tally Man and some fantastic original music videos.

Tally Man was filmed at locations in Portsmouth and Bedhampton and will be screened at Port Solent tonight, along with the music videos, with all the glitz and glamour of a big London premiere.

Louisa said: ‘I set up the school to bridge the gap between stage and film because of a lack of television training for young people.

‘I wanted to give them the opportunity to make the transition into television.

‘The academy has been running for a long time in Southampton and in Portsmouth and Portchester for just a year.’

Louisa, a 38-year-old mum-of-two, added: ‘The premiere is a huge event for both the younger and older students.

‘We barricade the parents behind metal fencing, and the children step out of the limo on to the red carpet with their faces telling the whole story, they love it.’

The school’s screen actor training classes have had some big success stories.

Former and current students of the school have gone on to star on TV.

Isabella Campbell, five, from Southsea, has appeared in advertisements for Asda and Petit Filous.

Lucas Baxter, seven, from Port Solent, acted alongside television chef James Martin in another Asda advert, with many more attending casting sessions in London every week.

The school’s screen actor training classes are designed to boost confidence and develop social and cognitive skills through a uniquely tailored programme.

Louisa takes students aged five to 20.
