Gosport school closed for the day following break-in

A SECONDARY school in Gosport has been closed today after vandals caused '˜extensive damage'.

Brune Park Community School in Military Road, Gosport, will be closed for the day due to safety concerns.

Posting on the school's website, headteacher Kirstie Andrew-Power said: '˜There has been a significant break-in to the school overnight with damage caused to a number of areas.

'˜The safety and security of students and staff is our priority so the school will be closed for today.

'˜Staff are talking to students who have arrived to school and providing them with a letter to bring home.'

In an email sent to parents, the school confirmed that '˜extensive damage' has been done to the kitchen area, with staff unable to provide food facilities for students.
