Year 10 pupils Ben Jones and Barney Johnson were interested in engineering.

Barney, 15, said: ‘This was a good opportunity for us to see what’s on offer. We like engineering and there were a few engineering companies.’

Ben added: ‘It has given me a better idea on what I can do to get an engineering job.’

Careers co-ordinator Jo Wandless said: ‘This is the first time we have held this event for years and it was for students who did not want to do work experience.

‘During the week we also looked at CV building and interview technique.’
