Highbury journalism studentsmeet MPs at Westminster

Students were shown around the Houses of Parliament and told about the history of the building and the structure and traditions of the Commons and the Lords. The visit included a question-and-answer session with Havant MP Alan Mak, who talked about his views and gave an insight into politics.

The journalists attended a session with Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond, and Portsmouth North MP Penny Mordaunt.

Highbury student Ermis Madikopoulos, said: ‘Question time in the House of Commons was insightful and it gave me a better idea of what goes on in a political debate, in particular issues about violence against young women. I also gained more of an interest in politics.’
