Tracy Potter, executive headteacher of The Bedenham & Holbrook Federation of Primary Schools, said: ‘I have got a passion for maths and I hope that children will have the same attitude.
‘The children are always excited going into the event and are quizzed on what they are doing all of the time in school.
‘It gives them the opportunity to have fun in a competitive way.

Kevin Thorns, IT manager at Holbrook Primary School, said: ‘It is a great opportunity for the children to work together and do problem solving in a different context.
‘They get excited in the run up and it is a good competition for everyone in the local area.
‘The challenge brings maths into real life context.
‘There is a lot of naval engineering in the area, which provide jobs in the local area and maths is great for that.’
