Katy Hounsell-Robert’s Ben’s Bees was performed at the New Theatre Royal last week in front of a packed-out audience.

Six talented young actors, aged between five and eight, took on different bee roles in what Ms Hounsell-Robert said was a ‘triumphant’ show.

Producer Nic Williams said: ‘We feel that this project has been an astounding success. The children have grown immeasurably in confidence and as a team.

‘It has been a pleasure working with them’.

The children are members of the NTR Theatre Club.

There were a few hitches to overcome but Ms Hounsell-Robert had nothing but praise for the cast and crew.

She said: ‘Most of the older children left, the original director left and I had to change the play into an excerpt for the very young children to manage.

‘But, as true professionals, Nic Williams, and the new director, Hazel Mallinson-Nesmith, pulled it through triumphantly.’
