This will enable the school to add an extra reception class in response to the increasing primary school numbers across the city.

The money will also fund the replacement of three temporary classrooms with new, purpose-built classrooms.

Cabinet member for education at the council Councillor Neill Young approved the funding.

He said: ‘By re-allocating capital funding we can increase capacity at this popular primary school and create more, much need primary school places within the city.’
