Portsmouth stages film festival to mark Black History MonthÂ

A UNIVERSITY is celebrating black history month by hosting a film festival.

 Portsmouth Film Society (PFS) has teamed up with the University of Portsmouth and the Student Union to stage the event.

It's the eighth time the PFS has run the festival, with this year's offering taking place in the university's Eldon Building, in Middle Street, Portsmouth. It will feature an array of documentaries, short-films and dramas.

First on the run is the documentary Winnie, which screens tonight at 7.30pm.

It follows Nelson Mandela's wife's experiences the raw violence of apartheid and fights on the front lines,

Films will screen every Wednesday at 7.30pm until October 24
