Newly appointed centre manager, Hermione Garner, said: ‘Bart's Bash is always such a special event and this year we were delighted that it was such perfect weather and so many people were able to enjoy the racing. We had everyone from experienced racers to first timers sailing today and everyone came back with a huge smile on their face. Every year, Bart's Bash gets thousands of people enjoying sailing and watersports - many of whom have never sailed or raced before. We were proud to be a small part of this global event.

Those who didn’t fancy getting wet were able to enjoy a barbecue, tea and coffee and homemade cake stall.

Bart’s Bash was founded in 2014 in memory of Olympic gold and silver medallist, Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE, who passionately believed that ‘everyone should have the chance to try sailing and enjoy the many benefits that it brings’.
