School meals fee goes up for first time in six years
The increase, agreed by Hampshire County Council on Wednesday, covers schools in Gosport, Fareham, Havant and Waterlooville and will come into effect on April 11.
The council said the 10p increase - up to £2.10 - was to meet the rising costs of providing healthy meals.

Hide AdMember for children’s services, Councillor Keith Mans, said: ‘I’m keen school meals remain affordable but we must balance this against the rising costs to provide those meals.
‘The proposal to put the per meal price up by small increments will avoid sudden, dramatic price hikes.’
More than 70,000 school meals are served in Hampshire’s primary and secondary schools each day.
