School places up for grabs

PARENTS of young children are being urged to make sure their little ones are signed up to join school.

Primary and infant school applications across Portsmouth open today.

Children born between September 1, 2012, and August 31, 2013, will start school in September next year.

If children are currently in Year 2 of infant school, then parents will now need to apply for junior school places.

Applications open today and close at midnight on Sunday, January 15.

Places are allocated after the closing date and an email will be sent to confirm this on Tuesday, April 18.
