A STUDENT has been named as runner-up for Young Scientist of the Year.

Christine Addae-Kyereme, who goes to Portsmouth High School’s sixth form, came second out of 200 finalists at the Big Bang Competition in Birmingham.

At the event, students had to do a Dragon’s Den-style pitch to a panel of judges including astronaut Helen Sharman and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
