Air ambulance in Portsmouth after person suffers serious injuries falling down stairs

PARAMEDICS rushed to help a patient who had fallen down stairs at their home.

It happened yesterday in a home in Highbury Street, Old Portsmouth, at around 12.15pm on Friday.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said: ‘The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was one of a number of resources we sent to an emergency nearby where someone had fallen down the stairs at home and sustained serious injuries.

‘They were then taken by road to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton with the air ambulance team travelling with the patient.’
