The GP Patient Survey 2018 asked people to rank their doctor's practice over a variety of different categories. 

This included asking them if they felt that their overall experience at their GP's was good. 

What is the GP Patient Survey?

The GP Patient Survey is an independent survey run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England. 

It has been designed to give patients the opportunity to feed back about their experiences of their GP practice.

The survey includes questions about a range of issues, such as how easy or difficult it is to make an appointment at your practice, satisfaction with opening hours, the quality of care received from your GP and practice nurses, amongst other things.

The survey is sent out annually in January.

Replies to the survey will help GP practices understand where they can improve.

Which GPs surgeries scored lowest in the survey?  

The GP Patient Survey asked patients if they described their overall experience. 

The score was based on the percentage of patients who describe their overall experience of this GP practice as good.

Here are the three Portsmouth GP surgeries that scored the lowest: 

East Shore Partnership '“ 55 per cent of replies said that the overall experience was good. 

Senior Partner Dr Elizabeth Fellows said: '˜The GP survey is a snapshot in time and told us what we were already aware of.

'˜We have worked hard with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) and staff to improve access.

'˜We have been one of the first practices in the city to introduce E-consults, an on line messaging service which has been very well received by many patients, with very high patient satisfaction.

'˜This allows those who don't have online resources an easier time to get through on the phones.

'˜We have just had our CQC inspection and received a rating of good in all areas including access.' 

University surgery '“ 63% of replies said that the overall experience was good.

Craneswater Group Practice '“ 93% of replies rated their experience at the surgery as being good overall. 

John Pounds Surgery '“ 88% of respondents said that they had a good experience overall at the practice. 

Southsea Medical Centre '“ 88% of replies to the GP Patient survey said that they rated their experience at the surgery as being good overall.
