Charity fundraiser for childrens unit at QA

Portsmouth mum Elisabeth Yaxley, 38, is organising the charity fun weekend as a thank you for the care that was given to her 15-month-old son, Noah.

He was born with chromosome deficiency, which means he has a low immune system leaving him vulnerable to infections.

The optiflow machine is a way of helping children with breathing difficulties and it is something Noah has relied on due to recurrent chest infections. When Elisabeth found out they only had one machine, she was determined to help fund another one.

The event, which takes place on January 23 and 24, will see bands playing, raffle prizes and games, with Disney’s Frozen characters making a special appearance on the Sunday at 1pm.

So far, £175 has been raised, but the hope is to reach the target of £2,500.
