City walks for dementia sufferers are soon to start

PEOPLE with dementia can join a walking group launching on April 5.

The walks are being organised by Portsmouth City Council and will leave from the John Pounds Centre in Portsea.

Cabinet member for health and social care, Councillor Luke Stubbs, said: ‘It’s great news we are launching this new walking group and helping people stay healthy and socialise.

‘Getting out and about and being active is of benefit to everyone in society and groups like this can provide vital support.’

The walks will be on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 4pm, call (023) 9284 1762 for more.
