Coronavirus in Portsmouth: New Covid-19 deaths reported at QA Hospital as total now 951
The latest figures from the NHS report that new deaths linked to Covid-19 have been confirmed at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Updated daily figures released by NHS England on Tuesday, October 12 showed that there had been two deaths on September 15, and one each on on September 18, September 19, September 22, September 24, September 26 and September 28, as well as two on October 8, and one each on October 9 and 10.
All numbers registered in the last few days are subject to change as post mortem results are processed.
It means the total number of deaths linked to coronavirus at the hospital is 951 since the pandemic started.
The daily figures include deaths where the patient has tested positive for Covid-19 in the preceding 28 days.
The first death at QA Hospital was recorded on March 14 last year.
Confirmed cases in the Portsmouth City Council area have risen to more than 25,000 since the start of the pandemic.
While daily death figures are recorded by hospital trusts – and do not include those that occur in care homes – cases are recorded by council area.
There have been 528 deaths confirmed so far by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in Winchester, has recorded 462 deaths.
Southern NHS Trust has seen 60, and Solent NHS Trust 16.
