Coronavirus: Portsmouth medical centre forced to close due to 'staff shortages'

A SOUTHSEA medical centre has been forced to close its doors following ‘staff shortages’ due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Trafalgar Medical Practice closed its Osborne Road site yesterday evening after struggling with a lack of staff.

The practice’s other surgery, the Eastney Health Centre, remains open as normal for the time being.

A statement on its website confirmed the closure. It read: ‘Due to staffing shortages in relation to Covid-19, we are having to close our Osborne Road site from this evening March 25.

‘The Eastney Health Centre site will remain open as normal for our patients. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your support. We will continually monitor this and reopen as soon as we can.’
