Seeing family...and going back to work? Portsmouth News readers reveal what they are most looking forward to after lockdown ends

A SURVEY of Portsmouth News readers has revealed what people across the area are looking forward to after lockdown ends – and more than one in ten can’t wait to get back to their workplace.

More than 1,000 completed the questionnaire, which presented five elements of every day life and asked respondents to choose the three they are most looking forward to returning after the lockdown ends.

And for 10 per cent, returning to the workplace made the cut.

But the most eagerly awaited part of normal life is seeing family – with 80 per cent choosing it as an eagerly awaited part of normality.

When it comes to activities, eating out and visiting the pub are top of the to-do list for the largest number of readers, with 65 per cent saying they are looking forward to enjoying visiting a restaurant or their local.

Despite the airline and tourism industries being badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic, readers remain keen to travel once the crisis has subsided, as 62 per cent of survey respondents are looking forward to a holiday or trip abroad.

But readers are beginning to enjoy their new lockdown hairstyles – with only half saying they are looking forward to visiting the hairdressers.
