Cosham GP practice unable to see patients after paperwork problem

PATIENTS are unable to be seen at a GP practice due to a problem with legal requirements.

People registered at Northern Road Surgery, in Cosham, will until further notice be asked to go to either Cosham Park House or Paulsgrove, at 194 Allaway Avenue, for their scheduled GP appointments.

It comes as the practice needs to have a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission but the surgery’s registered manager has left.

Until the relevant paperwork for his replacement has been approved by the CQC, GPs are unable to see patients at the surgery.

Patients are being reassured it has nothing to do with the quality of care provided.

Carly Darwin, operations manager, said: ‘We are phoning patients with pre-booked appointments to offer them a choice of an alternative site.

‘We would like to apologise for any inconvenience.’

The reception at Northern Road will remain open during normal opening hours.
