Dad is taking on gruelling cycle for hospice

Kind-hearted Richard Wootton will push himself to the limit in his second gruelling cycle challenge of the year to help Chestnut Tree House, in West Sussex.

As if cycling 124 miles across mountainous terrain wasn’t enough, Richard is now bracing himself for the challenge of his life as he prepares to cycle 200 miles over three days.

Richard, who set up the trampolining park Flip Out Southampton earlier this year, is hoping to raise £5,000 for the hospice, a cause close to his heart.

Chestnut Tree House cares for 300 children and young adults aged from zero to 19 with progressive life-shortening conditions.

The 45-year-old completed one of the most challenging cycle rides in Europe when he took on the Wicklow 200, cycling 200km in the mountains of Wicklow in Ireland.

His next fundraiser will be riding 200 miles from Chestnut Tree House to Paris, finishing his epic ride at the Eiffel Tower.

Richard said: ‘I wanted to help a local charity and Chestnut Tree House was the perfect choice because they help hundreds of children and their families every year who are going through a very difficult time.

‘I have a lot of respect for the work that they do.’
