Decision over Portsmouth city centre walk-in clinic

A DECISION will be made next week on the future of the under-threat walk-in centre at Guildhall Walk.

The issue will be considered by members of the city’s health overview and scrutiny panel on Tuesday. Decisions will then be made by Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on Wednesday.

The recommendations reflect the feedback received by the CCG during the three-month public consultation.

n Retaining a practice in the city centre, which offers ‘walk in and wait’ appointments for registered patients.

n Enhancing the walk-in services at St Mary’s Treatment Centre. As initially proposed, the walk-in service at St Mary’s will now include GPs as well as nurses, offering an enhanced walk-in service.

n Extending the current pharmacy-based urgent care services.
