Families '˜enraged' by new role for Southern Health chief executive Katrina Percy

FAMILIES affected by failings of Southern Health have spoken of their anger as former chief executive Katrina Percy had a new role created for her.

Ms Percy resigned from her position last week and went into a new role at the trust to provide strategic advice to GP leaders in the area.

She is on the same salary of £240,000 a year.

Richard West, from Park Gate, lost his 28-year-old son, David West, to a drugs overdose three years ago.

David was being cared for by Southern Health and Mr West says failings at the trust contributed to the tragedy.

On Ms Percy’s new role, he said: ‘The families are enraged that this has happened.

‘We cannot believe that Southern Health allowed this to happen.

‘For her to be given another role advising GPs seems to be astonishing really.

‘We are more than disappointed by it.’
