Fareham GP to speak in London on new models of healthcare

Fareham GP Dr Donal Collins will give a presentation on the Better Local Care initiative in Gosport.

The initiative has seen several projects launched in the town including the same-day access service, a home visiting service and an extended primary care team.

Dr Collins, who is clinical lead for the initiative, will be one of four people speaking at the London event on March 15.

He said: ‘The aim of the event is to bring together the different population-based new models of care so we can learn from each other and share information as we are all doing things differently from each other, depending on local health needs.

‘It is also a chance to celebrate progress.

‘But of course everyone who attends on the day is only too aware of the very real challenges facing the NHS as we move forward.

‘NHS services have to change and move with the times if they are to be sustainable.’
