First aid class in Portsmouth to teach CPR for babies
St John Ambulance will be running a three-hour baby first aid course on Wednesday, March 16 at St John Ambulance, Old Commercial Road, Portsmouth, from 11am until 2pm.
Any parents with young babies who wish to attend, but cannot arrange childcare, are welcome to bring their babies along to the session.

Hide AdIt costs £30 and covers key first aid emergencies for babies and toddlers, as well as how to give CPR.
The course is being provided to support the charity’s latest campaign to encourage more parents to learn life saving skills.
Last month a new video was released, starring nursery rhyme characters, which demonstrates how to give CPR to a baby that is unconscious and not breathing.
It has been published on Youtube.
Sue Killen, CEO at St John Ambulance, said: ‘We’ve listened to parents and we know that they want to learn first aid skills in a way that’s easy and memorable. That’s what inspired the creation of Nursery Rhymes Inc.

and made it as reassuring as possible by making this new video and putting on a set of courses.
‘As well as learning the technique themselves, we’re asking everyone to share the video so that all parents, grandparents and carers know what to do in those crucial minutes after a baby has stopped breathing.’
