Growing the outstanding Guardian Angel Carers’ family tree since 2012
Our CareAngels provide a comprehensive range of home care services, uniquely tailored to each individual client who needs support and wishes to stay safely in their own home, from Fareham and Gosport in the west, to Havant, Emsworth and Chichester, to Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Goring On Sea and Worthing in the east.
How it all began
Christina Bassadone, founder of Guardian Angel Carers and Task Angels, is a former Olympian sailor representing Great Britain in 2004 and 2008, in Athens and Beijing.
So how did a former Olympian come to set up her own care business?
After hanging up her sails in 2010, Christina wanted to make a difference to the community.
From her houseboat at Chichester Marina, she planted the first seeds of the Angel family tree in 2010, founding Task Angels a domestic housekeeping company.
She soon realised she could offer more services for her clients, such as companionship, personal care, assistance with medication, meal preparation, overnight and live in care.
She recognised that there was a real need for a compassionate, professional, local care company which gives people the option of remaining in their own homes and so Guardian Angel Carers was established in 2012 and is now rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
The inspiration
Christina was inspired by the experience of growing up and living at times with both her grandmothers. This had an impact on the way Christina runs her business and her grandmothers’ experiences shaped the way Guardian Angel Carers operates.
Guardian Angel Carers now employs more than 170 dedicated CareAngels across the south providing outstanding care and a further 40 self-employed Task Angels, providing domestic help to more than 275 clients.
Task Angels
Our Task Angels provide regular, consistent and professional housekeeping assistance for clients not yet ready for care or with busy family lives that need expertise and understanding to support their own family tree.
Many Task Angels started their journey with Christina in 2010 and 2012 and are part of the Angel family tree to this day, providing a service to more than 90 Task Angel clients.
Hourly care
Our Guardian Angel Carers provide outstanding care from a minimum half hour visit to multiple visits and double up visits. With ongoing support from our experienced team, CareAngels have the most up to date training, information, support, systems and PPE, to provide outstanding care, safely at all times.
Live-in care
We have a dedicated team of live-in carers and overnight carers, providing bespoke 24/7 live-in care for couples or individual clients who wish to live in the comfort of their own home and familiar surroundings.
Franchises
Guardian Angel Carers has also branched out offering franchise opportunities, with Spelthorne in Surrey now successfully established for two years by a former Guardian Angel Carer, Lou Cobban, rated ‘good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission.
We recently welcomed two new franchisees, who will provide Guardian Angel care in Basingstoke and Farnham.
