Guardian Angel Carers have been providing compassionate care to clients in the comfort of their own home across West Sussex for 10 years.

Following the success of their branches in Worthing, Surrey and the Head Office branch in Chichester, rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, they have decided now is the time to expand into Hampshire.

Guardian Angel Carers launched their Havant branch on July 1 for the residents of Havant, Hayling Island and surrounding areas. A Fareham and Gosport branch is also launching in the next few weeks.

The team of highly-trained, dedicated and compassionate carers, who are called CareAngels, are matched to each client’s specific needs. Whether you are looking for help around the house or an alternative to a care home, Guardian Angel Carers can help.

They provide both visiting care and live-in care, where a CareAngel lives in to provide round- the-clock support.

Visiting care can be as little as once a week or several times a day to provide essential support at key times. For example, administering medication, assisting to wash/dress, to support with shopping and meal preparation, to carry out domestic duties and to provide companionship.

CareAngels can help with recovery post-operation, to support someone living with dementia, frailty or other life-limiting conditions.

Guardian Angel Carers founder, former Olympic sailor Christina Bassadone, says: ‘Compassionate, high quality care at home is close to my heart, having grown up very close to both my grannies.

‘I also believe in a proactive and preventative approach to care and support, to help individuals retain their quality of life for longer.’

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Guardian Angel Carers have continued to do everything they can to keep their clients and CareAngels safe and healthy. To this day, no-one in their care, nor on the team, has tested positive for coronavirus.

They credit this to the extensive efforts made to maintain the safety of everyone in the Guardian Angel Carers community.

Equipped with PPE and specially-made face shields, the team of CareAngels and clients are organised into small groups or ‘bubbles’, reducing the number of people each person sees.

Now, as they expand into Havant, Hayling Island and the surrounding areas, they bring with them robust and proven safety measures to support clients in their homes, where they are safest during these uncertain times.

Guardian Angel Carers believe everybody should be able to live happily, comfortably and independently at home for as long as possible. For those not ready for traditional care, they also offer bespoke tech-enabled care support packages that make the most of all that technology has to offer clients, whilst providing peace of mind to their families.

Founder Christina Bassadone says: ‘We are really excited to announce that our tech-enabled care with a response service allows you to have care when you need it most at the touch of a button.’

Guardian Angel Carers tech-enabled care comprises of a range of products which includes a lifeline pendant enabling the wearer to raise the alarm whilst at home and a GPS-enabled watch which works outside of the home, both products giving families peace of mind 24 hours a day in the event of an emergency.

This combined with the ‘human touch’ rapid response service and other safety features help clients maintain their sense of independence both at home or out and about.

Guardian Angel Carers believe in the power of compassionate care in the community and hold monthly lunch clubs and events to bring the community together. More details soon coming on their website.

Due to the restrictions over the past few months, Guardian Angel Carers have used innovative methods to maintain this relationship. For VE Day, they delivered the makings of an afternoon tea complete with scones and jam to clients to ensure that the spirits of the CareAngels and clients were lifted.

In addition, they also prioritised connection-building activities with the clients and their families.

Whether the CareAngels are setting up regular video calls between family members and clients or ensuring that their clients enjoy a bit of exercise, they are proud to deliver outstanding care with genuine warmth and a smile.
